High School Encounters
REGARD has created a program for high school students in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean that features movie screenings especially designed for them, rounded out by meetings with professional filmmakers. Once again, we will be showing films in the Jonquière screening hall as well as in Saint-Félicien. The Festival will also be travelling to various high schools in the region (Alma, La Baie, Chicoutimi, etc.). These screenings are often the only chance for young people in these areas to view independent works and auteur films in the short film format.
We believe that these Encounters, while they initiate students into a different, worldlier view of film, also create young film fans that are inquisitive and more daring than ever before. Many students come to regular screenings on their own, outside of school. In addition to offering students a stimulating cultural activity they can enjoy, High School Encounters affect the future of REGARD and independent film in our region, because the students of today are the public of tomorrow.

Primary School Screenings
These educational activities have been created for schools in the region after receiving requests from teachers who were looking for cultural activities related to film. In addition to our mobile animation workshops, we are now offering in-class screenings at primary schools. We also include educational tools with all our activities.
